A note

I enjoy my job and the people I work with. That feels funny to say nowadays akin to "Hey, things ain't so bad!" but its the truth. Not there are situations or people that make me bonkers but there is no feeling of being trapped. Or playing against the people you work with or for. I spent 5 years at a place where we trying to outsmart the board and it took its toll.

That said, when I have a metaphorically kick in the balls day at work I like to look at a random thank you note I got one day that I have printed on my desk.

Some background...

As part of my job I have to archive PTO. Not approve it but keep track of everyone's. When someone runs out the company allows other employees to donate days. That runs through me because I have to track all of this on various spreadsheets. We had one employee who ran out of days and I donated a few. As part of this I must inform people of the donation and sometimes the donor wants the grantee to know. So "Hey Cathy with a C, Kathy with a K gave you two PTO days! Hooray for Kathy with a K!"

In my case I did not want to be all "Oh hey, I donated some days to you" because that is awkward and see earlier post of the crippling terror I have in physically talking to anyone. It is why I blog instead. So let the employee know and time went by. THen she took a day and I let her know, "Don't worry. You had those PTO donations"

The employee replied...

I meant to ask you to send forward this message to the mysterious people but then forgot....can you do it now?

To you wonderful mysterious people 😏

Thanks for being awesome and thinking about my family and me! These extra PTO days bring a sense of calmness if I need to take a day off. I am so lucky to have people who care enough to reach out and donate days for me. I am truly blessed to have you in my life and am grateful to work with you.

It emboldened my heart and I recall that whenever there is a bad day
